The Graduate Computing Lab
The department's computer lab occupies the south end of the sixth floor of Haven Hall. Located in this renovated space since December 2002, the lab provides Dell Optiplex (running Windows XP Pro) and Macintosh (running OS X Tiger) workstations running a range of licensed and open-source software. The lab also provides high-speed 802.11g wireless networking, wired 100Mbit ethernet stations for laptops and a seating area for quiet study in our sunny south-facing bay window.
Graduate students are provided with backed-up server-based file storage by the university as well as 900 pages of free printing every term on the lab's two SITES-managed HP Laserjet printers.
